As part of the assessment process the student is required to demonstrate the required skills and performance criteria to a qualified assessor.

In order to meet these requirements, the student must participate in a live video conference with a qualified trainer/assessor. During the live video conference, the student is required to perform a set number of tasks while in an operational workplace environment.

The video conference backs up the workplace third-party observation report where the student is directly observed by a qualified third-party observer while they demonstrate the required range of workplace skills in an operational food preparation environment.

The live video conference is to be completed at the same time as the workplace tasks with a qualified observer. The third-party observer can assist with holding the camera then observing and signing off on the completion of the remaining range of tasks.
